My Book: Positively Triple Negative

I have cancer! Now what?

Living on the beautiful Caribbean island of Curaçao, at twenty-seven years old, that was the question I had to ask myself. Out of the blue, I was hit with a life-changing diagnosis and as my “normal” life stood still, I hopped on the scariest roller coaster of my life. In my new memoir, “Positively Triple Negative”, I invite you to join me on this ride and read inside my mind. The mind of an optimist—the glass-half-full-of-sarcasm kind. While the experience was bumpy and lumpy, it was also filled with epiphanies, cancer perks, friendship, family, gratitude, and hope. So, at definite risk of sounding like a Hallmark card, this is not a story of tragedy, instead it is one of triumph. This is a book about learning the hard life lessons and coming out of it more positive, empowered, and resilient than before. Better and balder* through it all.

*okay maybe that was just me

My book is available in paperback and e-book on Amazon worldwide!

This book is a gem!

Funny, touching, and easy to read; Eline did such a great job of taking you on her journey and showing you the world through her eyes. I loved every bit of it and my only regret was that it ended when I wanted it to keep going. (So I can’t wait for the next book).

I would recommend this to anyone. Beyond what you’d expect, this book teaches an amazing lesson on empathy.

I know I will be rereading this book because I had such a good first time with it. And it won’t hurt to remind me to always be positive by finding joy in every situation.

A very candid and humorous look at how the writers’ life is upended after a devastating cancer diagnosis. Only in her early 20’s at the time of her diagnosis she deals with the disease, treatments and its consequences in a very mature and inspiring way. Having been diagnosed myself in my late 50’s I found her story crossed generations and gave me hope.

How do you take a subject like cancer and turn it into a humorous, heart-felt and philosophical perspective on it? Don’t know? Ask Eline Allaart! This was such a great read. Her writing is so genuine you can almost feel like she’s next to you telling her story and laughing with you. Although her journey was unique to her, I think a lot of people have experienced cancer in their life (someone they know) and can appreciate her outlook on her struggles and triumphs. Highly recommend!

I opened it up with the intention of browsing but reading it during the weekend. Found myself one hour later still reading and not being able to put it down. Well written, with a playful, funny sarcastic tone to a story most would not dare to tell. A great read.

“This book is surprisingly relatable to me, to somebody that has never had cancer. Eline has really good insights on how to combat a lot of hardships women and men go through around their late 20s plus more. As other reviewers said, she takes the most mentally, emotionally and physically draining experience of her life and and bared it for us to experience through her words, while pushing through with hope and great humor.”

This book is written with a very big dose of wry humor, and, as a mother of a daughter with cancer, it was an invaluable read, the style of the book is uplifting, sad and funny at the same time and filled with really positive energy..
It was a great read, I hope to read many more books from this author, she is talented.
